I worked for a firm that paid you to study for it. In 2 months passed it. It is a good test and really got me interested in options.
Options are a big part of the test. As far as study materials there is a ton of practice tests and books out there to study from. I would find some as the practice tests are a good way to get used to the style of questions asked.
As far as studying, it is a must to set aside a good chunk of time each day to study for it. I used 2 hour study periods through the day to get this done. Keeps you focused and since there is alot of material to cover it helps in your remembering topics/ideas.

I'm not sure exactly when I'm taking it. I just got hired and need to pass the series 7 and 66, I think they said series 7 in three months then 1 month to study for the 66. It would suck if I didn't pass, anyone you guys know that didn't pass?? Yea I heard lots of options and bonds too. thanks for the help guys, definitely going to look into dearborn
I had to pass the 7 and 63 for a job. You do have to study and I'm sure someplace you are working sponsors the class. Study like you would for a major exam and you will do fine. The 63 is multiple choice but isn't a walk in the park. That said, I nailed both 1st time w/ high marks so they aren't as difficultas some other tests. Just learn Options and Bonds and you will do fine. GL
I would say that the 63 is a piece of cake compared to the 7. I had passed the 7 and then 3 days later took the 63. I just did the questions in the back of each chapter and didn't have a problem with the test. I feel the test was alot of common sense questions about what is right and wrong.....if you have a conscience you should pass this easily..IMO!

Being in my forties, I have been lucky in not missing time due to injury, as I have seen many others, who are younger than I, get hurt from lifting.
Although I intend on staying where I'm at for a while, I do look ahead, and think about changing careers. What's it like working for a financial investment company? Would it be something more for new college grads, or could anybody make that career transition?

The crowd was very mixed, some recent college grads, some old people, middle aged people changing careers. There were 3 people with psychology degrees, a lot of people from insurance, loans people, customer service backgrounds, ex-military, former teachers, just all sorts of stories and backgrounds. So it definitely is for anyone interested.
After looking at what insurance agents make I wonder why they would want to get into investments. You can make a ton on renewing policies!!!
